The Laymans Extension requires a Free Laymans Account. All your casefiles, templates, and resources are organized in your Laymans Bookmarks.

Option 1: Chrome Web Store

Coming soon to the Chrome Web Store. Use direct installation below for now.

Option 2: Direct Install via ZIP (Recommended)

Universal installation that works everywhere:

  • 1. Download the .zip file
  • 2. Open Chrome and go to chrome://extensions/
  • 3. Enable Developer Mode (toggle in top-right corner)
  • 4. Drag and drop the .zip file onto the extensions page
  • 5. Click "Add Extension" when prompted

Option 3: Direct Install via CRX

Alternative signed package format:

  • 1. Download the .crx file
  • 2. Open Chrome and go to chrome://extensions/
  • 3. Enable Developer Mode (toggle in top-right corner)
  • 4. Drag and drop the .crx file onto the extensions page
📦 Which Format Should I Use?

ZIP Format (.zip) - Recommended

  • Works on all systems and browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, etc.)
  • Guaranteed to be available
  • No compatibility issues

CRX Format (.crx) - Alternative

  • Signed package with maintained extension ID
  • Slightly faster installation
  • May not be available on all systems

Both formats install the exact same extension. If you're unsure, use the ZIP file.
